Donate to Help Haiti
The destruction in Haiti from the earthquake is beyond horrific. I don’t know if this is as bad or worse than the 2004 tsunami that devastated Indonesia, but from the pictures it looks like there are very few structures left standing. It’s been a rough year financially for many of us, but when I compare what I have during the worst of times to what the earthquake survivors have… well, it’s a no brainer to donate something to try and help. I’m donating to Doctors Without Borders (see the button/link on my sidebar). This organization already has people in Haiti providing badly needed medical assistance - most medical facilities in Haiti were badly damaged or destroyed in the quake. To donate, go here (or click on the button on my sidebar) and to keep up with their progress, go here.
Another way to donate via Lisa Brackmann at Paper Tiger “Text “HAITI” to 90999 to donate $10 to @RedCross relief efforts in #Haiti. It is *that* simple. Learn more here.”
Thanks, Lisa and Nathan Bransford, for supplying the links.

A big “Welcome back”! And thanks for the opportunity to help. It IS a no brainer. Let’s keep up our grandest tradition of rushing to help disaster victims everywhere.
Looking forward to future posts and to whatever comes from your pen.
(Btw, I picked up Death’s Garden and enjoyed “Muzak Of The Dead”. Cave Hill Cemetery was a usual venue when I could walk. You raised a lot of fond memories.
LOL.:-)

Hi, Jack! This was a good way to start my posting again… something important and meaningful. I just cried when I looked at the pictures of the earthquake’s aftermath. Very scary. The 1989 SF earthquake was 6.9-7.0 on the Richter scale and even though there was horrific damage here as well, it was just nothing in comparison to the wholesale destruction in Haiti.
Ah, Muzak of the Dead… that was my first essay for Loren Rhoads!

Unbelievable destruction. Thanks for providing those links, there are already scam artists out there working the net.

Thanks for the info. I’m definitely going to do something to ease the load even a small bit for those unfortunate people.
It’s a horrible disaster.

You can’t go wrong with Doctors Without Borders, and as for the text program, that was actually set up by the State Department, so it’s a good one too.

It is unreal.
Another donation option is to text YELE to 501501 (http://www.yele.org/) to donate $5.

Dittoes to Marvin as well. We were happy to help out, as small as our aid is.
It’s what we could do. Thanks for the opportunity. Keep your love alive, whatever happens.
LOL.
